I always love to find a way to upgrade one of my favorite dishes. One of them is lasagna. Instead of just ground beef I add minced boneless beef ribs. Add more flavor to the Sauce. And with the right noodles you’ll make a lasagna to remember
All you need:
- 2 strips of boneless beef ribs
- 1 and a half pound of ground beef
- Barillia lasagna noodles
- yellow and red onions 1 of each
- 2 teaspoon of olive oil
- 2 cloves of garlic
- ricotta cheese
- Mozzarella cheese
- 1 green bell pepper
- 1 can of dice tomatoes
- 1 jar of spaghetti sauces
- a pinch of sugar
I start to boil the water for the noodles first. Then I wash and take the boneless beef ribs and slice them very thin.Like thin chunks. In a sauce pan I let it stew for ten minutes alone. No season yet. Mean while I take the hand full of ground beef and makes mini meatballs. Add it ,while the meat steams for a while. I chopped the veggies. 1 bell pepper. prefer green. I diced to medium size chunks same with the red and yellow onions. Add it to the meat which should be done within the next fifth teen minutes. Add Barilla noodles to the hot boiling water. Barilla makes the best noodles especially for lasagna.
When the meat is about done add a little season. A little black pepper and season salt. Then slice the squash in X angle. As it steams add the can tomatoes and the spaghetti sauce.Stir is slow speed to make sure the mini meatballs is not broken. By now the noodles should be half way done.Which is perfect before baking. In an olive oil based baker start the layers.
1st layer sauce ,noodle ricotta cheese sauces
2nd layer sauces, noodles, mozzarella cheese sauce .repeat for the 3rd and fourth layer.
Goes great with side with collard ,turnip or kale greens.
